Modified plastic technology leads the Huangyan molding industry towards high-end development

     Modified plastics refer to processing methods such as filling, blending, and strengthening on the basis of general plastics and engineering plastics to improve the flame retardancy, strength, toughness, and other properties of plastics. Since the 1990s, some enterprises in Huangyan have been exposed to and applied plastic modification technology, and have carried out technological breakthroughs in this field through various means such as independent research and development and cooperation with scientific research institutions. After several years of accumulation, the technological advantages of Huangyan related enterprises in the field of modified plastics are gradually emerging.
     Liang Zhichao is the Vice President of Yonggao Research Institute of Yonggao Co., Ltd. He is a Ph.D. in polymer materials introduced by Yonggao and specializes in research on new materials, new products, and other aspects. On that day, he came to the Quality Management Department of Yonggao Stock's Foreign Trade Base to learn about the high pressure resistance testing of PVC pipes being carried out here.
     Liang Zhichao, Vice President of Yonggao Research Institute: Before using new materials for our product, our pressure can only reach about 15 megapascals. When we use new modified materials. We can improve the pressure resistance of this product to 25 megapascals.
     The high pressure fittings mentioned by Liang Zhichao are manufactured by Yonggao Group using a newly developed modified PVC material. The use of this new material not only significantly improves the pressure resistance of pipe fittings, but also increases the yield of pipe fittings from the original 75% to over 99%, and the selling price has increased by 20% compared to the original.
     In addition to improving the pressure resistance, impact resistance, and extreme environmental resistance of products, Yonggao is also conducting research on the antibacterial and green environmental performance of modified plastics, and applying the research results to various series of products of the company.
     Liang Zhichao, Vice President of Yonggao Research Institute: In our company's product series, including pipes, pipes, valves, and profiles, currently our modified materials have a coverage rate of about 90% in our products.
     The widespread application of modified plastics not only improves the product quality of Yonggao, but also enhances the economic benefits of the enterprise.
     Zhang Yunfei, Deputy Director of the Production Management Center of Yonggao Co., Ltd.: For example, our high-performance pressure resistant modified PVC raw material was originally imported from abroad at a price of $2000 per ton. Through our own research and development in this area of modification, the cost is only $800 to $1000. Another point is that after the modification, our product price has also increased from the original 15000 per ton to the current 18000 per ton.
     It is understood that currently, 80% of the 130 large-scale plastic product enterprises in Huangyan District are engaged in the development and utilization of plastic modification. Feida Sanhe, Yulong Technology, and others have comprehensively improved the impact strength and aging resistance of traditional plastic products under complex conditions such as high temperature and cold through reasonable modification of recycled plastics. Taking Feida Sanhe's annual production of 3 million sets of small and medium-sized household garbage bins as an example, using newly developed modification technology, on the basis of using 10000 tons of recycled plastic annually and saving 12000 tons of standard coal annually, the product has reached the high-tech standard of unchanged performance under 2000 hours of 60oC xenon lamp irradiation. Rongxin Industry and Trade's logistics pallets rely on compatibility toughening technology and advanced mold manufacturing technology to modify low-quality recycled plastics into plastic products with high strength and toughness. While utilizing waste plastics to achieve low costs, the main performance of the products even exceeds that of new materials.
